The lead portfolio managers on the fund will be Andrew Owen, Christian Chan and Thomas Biwer.
“The fund’s multi-manager approach offers clients the benefits of complementary investment styles, adding manager diversification to stock diversification,” said Owen, executive vice president at the firm.
“We believe the diversification among multiple small-cap value investment styles will offer investors the benefits of reduced volatility and risk relative to the fund’s peers,” he added.
One team will apply a contrarian approach, looking for companies with the potential for strong cash flow. Another will focus on companies that have been overlooked by the investment community, and the third group will look for companies whose fortunes could change due to a new dynamic, such as a new management team or product.
