  • Wealth Think, Financial Planning's op-ed vertical, showcases sharp perspectives written by industry professionals on topics of interest to financial advisors and the wider financial services community. We seek a diverse array of voices and encourage counterintuitive takes and submissions with strong points of view.

Please read carefully before submitting a draft (650-750 words) or a pitch (one paragraph) for consideration.

    DO

    • Write exclusively for our readership of financial planners
    • Deliver a unique and timely take on your topic (this is especially important with well-canvassed subjects like technology, succession planning, great wealth transfer, etc.)
    • Illustrate the piece with relevant real life examples or anecdotes drawn from your professional and/or personal experience
    • Write in conversational English — think of it as speaking to colleagues
    • Anchor — but don't overload — the piece with relevant and current studies or stats where applicable
    • Link to source materials and other supporting material where relevant

    DON'T

    • Submit AI-generated copy
    • Send a submission that has been published or submitted elsewhere
    • Use industry jargon, buzzwords or cliches
    • Include sales copy, promotional material or investment recommendations. We do not accept articles whose sole purpose is to promote a product, service or category of product or service.
    • Include footnotes and corporate disclosures

PLEASE SEND SUBMISSIONS AND PITCHES TO voices@arizent.com AND INCLUDE:

    • A short bio, with the author's job title and a very brief description of their role at their company or organization.
    • An engaging, high-resolution author headshot (750KB or higher)
    • Social media handles for X and LinkedIn for the author and their firm
    • Original charts/graphics where applicable (editable Excel or Google Sheet formats work best)
    • Potential conflicts of interest at the time of submission. Should an undisclosed conflict come to our attention, we will immediately remove the article and reserve the right to publish an editor's note explaining the circumstances to our audience.
