Asset managers polled indicated plans to adopt a host of new technology platforms in 2014 from mobile devices, data storage and social media. <b>iPads/Tablets</b>
Since iPads were first released by Apple in 2010, they have become increasingly commonplace at businesses including fund firms. Seventeen percent of the asset managers surveyed said they plan to adopt these devices into their organizations in 2014.

Mobile apps first became commonplace in 2008 and their popularity has steadily increased. Nearly one fifth (17%) of survey respondents plan to spend money on mobile app usage this year.

Fund firms are increasing their emphasis on having a model of network computing that enables multiple employees to access and update data. One in 10 survey respondents say they plan to adopt cloud computing in 2014.

Ten percent of asset managers are planning to adopt plans with social media sites like Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook this year.
