Where cost of (assisted) living is highest

Many elderly Americans opt to move to assisted living communities in the earlier stages of their retirement. And while the price of these facilities has stayed relatively stable compared to other long-term care costs, there is still a discrepancy in prices among states. The range gets even wider between cities.

The median monthly cost for an assisted living community is $3,628 per month, an increase of nearly 1% from 2015, according to Genworth's annual Cost of Care study.
