The appointment gives Kowach the helm of a business division providing services through the firm’s 11,000 financial advisors. He comes to that position after most recently serving as head of the Wells Fargo’s Business Development Group, where he oversaw strategies aimed at boosting the recruitment, retention and productivity of the firm’s advisor force. In that role, he also focused on ways to increase growth and national sales.
Kowach’s promotion follows the promotion of Private Client Group president Jim Hays to the new role of executive vice president and head of wealth brokerage services in early October.
Kowach will report to Wells Fargo Advisors President and CEO Danny Ludeman in his new role.

Wells Fargo’s Private Client Group provides advice, banking, transactions and other services through the firm’s brokerage offices.
