Funds Take in $7.9 Billion

Long-term mutual funds netted $7.9 billion of inflows in the week ended Jan. 26, the Investment Company Institute said Wednesday.

Equity funds had inflows of $5.12 billion, following inflows of $4.96 billion the previous week. Investors poured $3.25 billion into domestic equity funds and $1.88 billion into foreign equity funds.

Hybrid funds had inflows of $1.95 billion, compared to inflows of $1.56 billion the previous week.

Bond funds saw inflows of $831 million, reversing the $2.17 billion in outflows the previous week. Taxable bond funds has inflows of $3.51 billion, while municipal bond funds saw $2.68 billion walk out the door
