Independent B-D Giant NPH Hires Retirement Exec Away From SunAmerica

National Planning Holdings, one of the country’s largest independent broker-dealer networks, has hired former SunAmerica executive Frank Hayn as vice president of retirement plans.

In the post, which is new for the broker-dealer network, Hayn will support existing retirement plan business and will help NPH representatives grow their practices in the retirement plan and 401(k) space. NPH will be expanding its services for advisors in this area, the company says in a statement. There will be new support programs to help advisors “address evolving compliance regulations as they work with plan sponsors on … retirement plan offerings,” the company says.

Hayn will report to John C. Johnson, the broker-dealer network’s vice president of sponsor relations. Hayn was previously director of 401(k) sales at SunAmerica.

“Frank brings a wealth of experience in the qualified plan market to NPH and will be a valuable resource to our representatives as they seek to engage small- to mid-size businesses in the 401(k) arena,” according to Johnson. “The retirement plan space represents a significant opportunity for advisors to expand their practices by working as a consultant to companies that are looking to enhance their benefit plans.”

National Planning Holdings is an affiliate of Lansing, Mich.-based Jackson National Life Insurance Company. The four independent broker-dealers in the NPH network are: Invest Financial, Investment Centers of America, National Planning and SII Investments.
