Once burnt, twice shy. It will take a lot of effort to win the confidence of those who saw their portfolios shrink in the global meltdown or who were subjected to unnecessary hardships because of the sub-prime crisis. It is a classic catch-22 situation. They want to invest for the long-term and are wary of committing investments to the long term. Financial advisors have their work cut-out for them.
