RBC has signed on four advisors with the Haynes & Woodward Investment Group and the Holder/Carter Group to the firm’s Leawood, Kansas, office.

The Kansas City area is a prime target for RBC, according to Mark Borcherding, director of the Leawood branch.

"Kansas City’s a great market for financial advisors. There’s large pools of wealth here and large groups of fortune 500 companies to work with," he said in a phone interview. "So even our existing financial advisors are growing their practices."

The firm has brought on five advisors to that area, including these four revent hires, so far this fiscal year, Borcherding said.

The Haynes & Woodward Investment Group, comprised of Todd Haynes and Thomas Woodward, and Scott Holder and Jason Carter of the Holder/Carter Group all come from Merrill Lynch and are joined by registered client associate Sara Cibrian.

Haynes & Woodward, who have more than 20 years of combined experience, managed $130 million in assets and produced around $800,000. The Holder/Carter group oversaw $80 million in assets and also produced $800,000.

RBC has hired a number of wirehouse advisors so far this year including David Upin from Wells Fargo and a $230 million team from Morgan Stanley.
