We took a fresh look at this year's top advisers and re-ranked them based solely on fee business. For the original ranking, we used a weighted average of six variables; namely: (1) assets under management; (2) trailing-12 production; (3) % change in AUM from the previous year; (4) % change in trailing-12; (5) amount of fee-based business; and (6) ratio of production-per-AUM.

A well-rounded approach wins the day with the annual advisor ranking. No one-trick ponies allowed, as multiple metrics count toward advisors' scores, including AUM, production, growth and fee business.
