Two Morgan Stanley advisors who oversaw more than $330 million in client assets have left the firm for Merrill Lynch, reuniting with the firm where they started their careers, according to a spokeswoman for Merrill.
Advisors Jeremy Newton and Stephen Lamb now operate as the Newton Lamb Group at Merrill Lynch in Houston. The duo generated $2.5 million in annual revenue in 2015, according to Merrill.
Lamb began his career at Merrill in 1984 while Newton started working at the firm in 2000, according to a spokeswoman. They parted ways with Merrill in 2008 in order to move to Morgan.
The group reports to Hong Ogle, a managing director and market executive at Merrill.
Also joining the group as team financial advisors are Sean McCullough and Laura Philmon, who both moved from Morgan, and former Wells Fargo employee Jon Yambao. The team also includes client associates Stefanie Corbell, Christine Goertz and David Smith.
Morgan Stanley declined to comment on Newton and Lamb’s departure.
