Aberdeen Seeks Debt Plays in Emerging Markets

Aberdeen Asset Management has launched the Aberdeen Emerging Markets Debt Fund (AKFAX) in response to continued growing investor interest in the emerging market debt asset class.

The fund will bet have exposure across the emerging markets debt universe, including hard and local currency sovereign bonds and corporates. It is managed by Aberdeen's Emerging Market and Sovereign Debt team, led by Brett Diment.

"By investing in emerging market bonds, we believe that we can get better credit quality than in developed bond markets and in many cases a higher yield," stated Diment.

The fund sports a management fee of 75 basis points.
