Healey is to succeed, as CEO, founder and chairman William J. Nutt, who will remain chairman.
Healey, 43, joined AMG in 1995 as an executive vice president and in 1999 became president and chief operating officer.
He was named to the Boston company's board of directors in May 2001.
Before joining AMG, Healey worked seven years in the mergers and acquisitions department at
AMG, through its affiliated investment management firms, managed $109 billion of assets as of Sept. 30.
