Alger Adds Adams to Growth & Income Fund

Fred Alger Management, Inc. has added Gregory Adams as a portfolio manager for the Alger Growth & Income Fund and the Alger Growth & Income Portfolio.

Adams is a senior vice president who already serves as a portfolio manager on the Alger Dynamic Opportunities Fund as well as director of quantitative and risk manager. He also assists in the portfolio management of Alger’s separately managed account program, with over $1.2 billion in assets under management in a variety of strategies.

With regards to the Growth & Income Fund, Adams will work with Dan Chung, who is also Alger’s chief executive and chief investment officer.

The Growth & Income Fund's A Shares is a pure equity fund and charges 138 basis points for totalfund operrating expenses.

Meanwhile, the fund which Adams already helps manage, the Dynamic Opportunities Fund, is a long/short equity fund for investors who seek to achieve long-term capital appreciation. This fund charges a management fee of 120 basis points.

Adams has 25-years in the industry. Previously, he was director of quantitative research at Lord Abbett & Co., and was responsible for portfolio construction simulation and quantitative stock selection.
