A former AllianceBernstein investment guru is taking a stab at public service. New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli has hired Vicki Fuller to oversee the state pension fund as chief investment officer.
Previously, Fuller was a co-head of the Global High Yield Group and managed a team of investment professionals and a portfolio in excess of $10 billion in bank loans, high yield, emerging debt and global high yield assets at AllianceBernstein. She will start August 30 and earn $300,000, which isn’t too shabby for a public servant.
Korn/Ferry International’s Michael Kennedy helped conduct the nationwide search for the CIO position. The fund is the third-largest public pension fund in the nation.
DiNapoli’s office oversee the $150.3 billion Common Retirement Fund, one of the largest institutional investors in the world.
