American Century Unveils Latest PMs

Three American Century Investments portfolio managers are popping the champagne after their latest promotions.

Three members within the investment management department — senior investment analyst Chad Baumler, senior investment analyst Steven Rodriquez, and senior fixed income trade Le Tran — were promoted to portfolio managers at the Kansas City, Mo.-based firm.

Baumler was promoted to portfolio manager for the U.S. Value strategy, which includes management of the American Century Value and VP Value funds. He will continue to provide analytical support for the U.S. Value Yield, U.S. Mid Cap Value and U.S. Equity Market Neutral Value strategies. Prior to joining American Century in 2007, Baumler worked at CB Richard Ellis.

Rodriquez will co-manage the U.S. Real Estate Securities and Global Real Estate Securities strategies, which includes management of the American Century Real Estate and Global Real Estate funds. Rodriquez joined the firm in 2009 from Barclays Capital, where he was a REIT equity research associate.

Tran will serve on the money market team, co-managing the American Century Tax-Free Money Market and California Tax-Free Money Market funds. He has been a member of the fixed income team since joining the firm in 2004 and has been directly supporting the money market team since 2006. Before that, Tran was an operations specialist at Seneca Capital Management and an accountant with F.E. Jordan Associates.
