Amerprise Adds Two MSSB Advisors

In an effort to continue expanding its advisor headcounts, Ameriprise has added a pair of advisors from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Connecticut.

Robert Ceccarelli and John Hursh collectively manage more than $148 million in assets and produce nearly $1 million in revenue. They will join Ameriprise's employee advisor channel and be located in the New Haven, Conn.

The channel has more than 2,300 advisors. Combined with the 7,500 independent advisors, the overall broker/dealer has more than 9,800 advisors. Since 2009, more than 1,700 advisors have joined Ameriprise.

"More and more advisors are finding that our culture, and our proposition of serving clients and helping advisors run and grow their business is appealing and stands tall in today's competitive environment," said Chris Reese, the director of public communications for Amerpirse."This has led to a significant number of advisors moving their practice to Ameriprise to take advantage of the resources that will help them grow their business while serving their clients."

Ceccarelli and Hursh previously worked at Legg Mason, which was folded into the Smith Barney when Citi bought Legg's private client business. When Citi sold its controlling stake of Smith Barney, the duo was folded into Morgan Stanley.

Hursh has worked in the financial advisory business since 1992, beginning his career at Prudential Securities. Ceccarelli started in 1997 also at Prudential Securities.
