Aristotle Adds Ex-MetWest Researchers, Trader

Aristotle Capital Management is adding new talent to its team.

The Los Angeles company has hired Jay Cunningham and Eric Gerritse as senior research analyst and research analyst, respectively, for the investment management team. It has also hired Andrew Shapiro as a director of trading.

Prior to Aristotle, Cunningham served for seven years as senior vice president and senior research analyst for Metropolitan West Capital Management, working with chief executive and chief investment officer Howard Gleicher of Aristotle during his tenure between 2005 and 2010 there. Cunningham has also held senior analyst positions at Hibernia Southcoast Capital, AIM Investments, and the Retirement Systems of Alabama.

Gerritse served overseas in the Netherlands as a senior fund analyst at ABN AMRO Advisors and an analyst at MeesPierson covering U.S. and global equities.

Shapiro comes from a securities trading background, serving as senior vice president of trading at Metropolitan West Capital Management, trading manager at Palley-Needelman Asset Management. Inc., listed equity trader at Cantor Fitzgerald & Company and a floor broker for Lehman Brothers at the Pacific Stock Exchange.

"Jay, Eric and Andrew will be invaluable as we continue to execute on our key investment strategies — Domestic Value Equity, International Equity, Global Equity and Global Opportunity," Gleicher stated in a press release.
