Ashmore Rolls Out Emerging Markets Small Cap Equity Fund

Ashmore Investment Management, an emerging markets specialist headquartered in London, has introduced the Emerging Markets Small Cap Equity Fund.

The new fund complements Ashmore’s six existing fixed income and equity emerging markets funds, which are being made available to U.S. distributors through new A and C Share classes. To boost these sales efforts, Ashmore recently hired Ted Smith as head of U.S. intermediary distribution, reporting to Global Head of Distribution Christoph Hofman.

“Ashmore has successful built a global institutional brand as one of the preeminent emerging market specialists,” Hofman said. “Approximately 87% of our assets under management are made up of institutional investors from across the globe, including central banks, sovereign wealth funds, public and corporate pensions and insurance companies. Ashmore is delighted to offer its investment products now also to U.S. retail investors at a time when they are actively seeking to diversify their portfolios.”
