Bandon Snags Ex-Russell Director

Bandon Capital Management has hired Whitney Dow as Managing Director, responsible for spearheading the firm’s marketing and relationship management efforts.

Previously, Dow spent nearly six years as a Director with Russell Investments, responsible for the expansion of its distribution footprint in the U.S. by building strategic relationships with national, regional, and independent broker-dealers and other intermediaries.

Bandon’s founder and CIO Bill Woodruff said Dow‘s hiring is a testament to the growing relevance and importance of the alternative mutual fund sector of the investment management industry.

“The demand for alternative, non-correlated or idiosyncratic-sourced returns in convenient delivery vehicles like mutual funds is intensifying, and to have a unique long-short debt strategy that just celebrated its two-year anniversary puts us in the right place at the right time,” said Woodruff, in a statement.

Portland, Oregon-based Bandon currently manages the Bandon Isolated Alpha Fixed Income Fund (BANIX), a long-short fixed income mutual fund.
