Merrill named Michael Casey director of their Nevada/Boise Complex, the wirehouse says. At Morgan, Casey had been a wealth management market leader responsible for leading two branches in California and three offices in Tucson, Ariz.

He spent five years with Morgan after a brief stint at Wells Fargo, according to his LinkedIn profile, and was at Merrill before that from 1989 to 2009. Casey's jobs included marketing and national sales leader for the Global Client Group, and resident director in St. Louis, the statement said.

"Merrill Lynch is my home," Casey says, about his return to the firm.

"I like the people and their spirit of doing what is best for the client," he added. "The Optimal Practice Model and the creation of advisor teams to serve clients better are two of the reasons I returned.”

He will report to Tom Fickinger, market executive for the Pacific Northwest region.
