CSAM Expands Fixed Income Team

Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM) has installed a management team to oversee the firm's tax-advantaged fixed income products, the firm announced last week. Lori Cohane has joined CSAM as managing director of those products for high-net-worth investors.

Cohane joins CSAM from Morgan Stanley Investment Group, where she served as executive director and head of fixed income portfolio management. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 1994, she served as vice president, portfolio manager and senior credit analyst of municipal bond portfolios at Salomon Brothers Asset Management.

CSAM has also added two executives to serve on Cohane's team. Frank Biondi joins the firm as vice president and portfolio manager. He was most recently at UBS Global Asset Management, and previously worked with Cohane at Morgan Stanley. Maureen Grover, who also worked with Cohane at Morgan Stanley, joins CSAM as vice president in charge of client services. Both Biondi and Grover will report directly to Cohane.

"Our decision to appoint Lori is a clear reflection of our continued commitment to our high-net-worth investors by identifying and offering the best financial solutions possible. We are delighted to welcome Lori and her team to CSAM and are confident that we will be able to grow this very important part of the business," said Jeff Peek, vice chairman of Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB).
