Delaware Investments CEO Driscoll Resigns Abruptly

Jude T. Driscoll, chairman, chief executive officer, president and trustee of Delaware Investments since 2002, resigned abruptly on Tuesday, a filing with the SEC indicated. His resignation will be effective August 1.

Patrick P. Coyne, executive vice president and chief equity investments officer, will replace him, the company indicated in a subsequent press release. The company said Driscoll had resigned to "spend time with his family."

Less than a week ago, Lincoln Financial Group, an affiliate of Delaware Investments, completed its acquisition of Jefferson Pilot Financial and reorganized its business units.
