Joel Denney has joined U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray as director of research within the firm's fixed income capital markets division. He will be responsible for seven analysts, who provide general credit markets research for the firm.

Denney joined U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray in 1987 as an analyst covering aircraft finance. In addition to his new role, he will continue as a senior analyst focusing on research of utilities and communications services and aircraft financing.

"[Denney's] keen insights, experience and leadership, as well as his commitment to providing premier research in Fixed Income Capital Markets, will help us continue to expand and build on our already specialized research team," Dave MacLennan, president of the fixed income capital markets division, said in a statement.
