After more than three decades in the asset management industry, Bob Doll, BlackRock’s chief equity strategist, has decided to retire from the firm.

Doll has managed the firm’s Large Cap Series since 1999. In his stead, Chris Leavy, chief investment officer of Fundamental Equity (Americas), will now also manage the LCS portfolios, along with Peter Stournaras, who has co-managed the Series since 2010, according to an internal memo distributed to employees yesterday. Doll will assist with the portfolio transition through June 30 and, when the transition is complete, will serve in an advisory capacity through the end of 2012.
