DTCC Warehouse Provides Swap Data Online

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) will begin publishing aggregate market data on credit derivatives, starting Nov. 4.

From then on, every week DTCC will post the outstanding gross and net notional values of credit default swap contracts registered in its Trade Information Warehouse for the top 1,000 single-name reference entities.

The data will be shown in two sections: one covering the outstanding notional values at the end of each week, and the second showing weekly turnover volume.
Making this information available on its website should address market concerns about transparency.

DTCC's warehouse is the world's largest central electronic registry for over-the-counter derivative credit default swaps.
