Eaton Vance Closes 5-star Fund

Eaton Vance is closing its Eaton Vance Atlanta Capital SMID-Cap fund to new investors on January 15, 2013, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

The $3.4 billion fund, which launched in November 2003, bets on companies comprising the Russell 2000 Index. It is sub-advised by Atlanta Capital Management Company and its portfolio managers are Charles Reed, William Bell, Matthew Hereford, William Hackney and Paul Marshall.

The fund was launched in November 2003 and sports an expense ratio of 124 basis points.
