Eaton Vance Corp. has hired away an executive vice president from LPL Financial.
John Moninger will join the Boston-based firm as the new director of retail sales as of Nov. 26. As director of retail sales, Moninger will lead all sales and relationship management for the brokerage and independent channels.
Moninger will be based in Boston and report to president Matthew Witkos of Eaton Vance Distributors, Inc.
"John has developed a reputation as a dynamic leader who places client needs first while advocating for his team," said Witkos. "John's passion, energy and enthusiasm are among his greatest assets and will serve him well as he works with our sales team to deliver financial solutions that address client needs."
At LPL, Moninger oversaw advisory and brokerage platforms and led the firm's team of product consultants. He also led the firm's financial planning group and wealth management services, providing advice and solutions for high-net-worth and ultra high-net-worth clients. Prior to LPL, Moninger served as national consulting director for investment solutions for UBS Financial Services.
Moninger currently serves on the board of directors of the Investment Management Consultants Association and the Money Management Institute.
