Echo Point Appoints Sales, Marketing Head

Echo Point Investment Management has a new head of sales and marketing.

The Old Mutual Asset Management has appointed John Larson as an executive director, responsible for direct marketing and client service at the Conshohocken, Penn.-based company.

In his new role, Larson will focus on expanding Echo Point's consultant and plan sponsor relationships. He will also direct the firm's marketing and client service efforts.

In an emailed statement, Hans van den Berg, CEO and lead portfolio manager, said about Larson's hiring, "We pride ourselves in the stability of our staffing and processes and the availability of all required resources to conduct a successful business. We feel that all of our stakeholders benefit when we grow and diversify our revenues. To realize this, we felt we needed to hire someone with a proven track record of building strong relationships with clients and consultants with the dual goals of continuous improvement of client satisfaction and significant growth in assets. John fits that bill perfectly."

Prior to Echo Point, Larson handled the development of an institutional distribution plan at Cole Capital. Before Cole, he oversaw client service, marketing and business development for Gardner Lewis Asset Management, and directed marketing and sales efforts at Cooke & Bieler, an independent investment advisory firm based in Philadelphia.

Echo Point specializes in international equity asset management on behalf of institutional clients. It managed approximately $1.7 billion in client assets as of December 31, 2012.
