Equity Funds Continue to Bleed

Total estimated inflows to long-term mutual funds were $3.26 billion for the week ended Wednesday, June 27, according to data from the Investment Company Institute.

Equity funds had estimated outflows of $1.10 billion for the week, compared to estimated outflows of $1.52 billion in the previous week. Domestic equity funds had estimated outflows of $1.46 billion, while estimated inflows to world equity funds were $362 million.

Hybrid funds, which bet on stocks and fixed income securities, had estimated inflows of $21 million for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $1.19 billion in the previous week.

Bond funds had estimated inflows of $4.34 billion, compared to estimated inflows of $4.91 billion during the previous week. Taxable bond funds saw estimated inflows of $3.26 billion, while municipal bond funds had estimated inflows of $1.08 billion.
