Curian Hires Ramsier as Divisional VP for the West

Curian Capital has hired Kevin Ramsier as divisional vice president for the West region.

Ramsier will manage a team of Curian's regional business consultants and run distribution in 26 states. He had worked for Invesco Aim Management Group for 12 years, most recently as a regional sales manager. Before that he was a marketing director for SunAmerica.

Curian announced last month that it would expand its distribution team by adding 10 external regional business consultants and 10 internal regional business consultants and by hiring a new divisional vice president.

IndexIQ Selects Davidow As SVP, Distribution Chief

IndexIQ, which offers funds and alternative investments that replicate hedge funds, has hired Anthony B. Davidow, managing director and director of sales and training with the consulting group at Morgan Stanley, to join the company as senior vice president and head of distribution.

In making the selection, IndexIQ said it was swayed by Davidow's ability to double assets under management at Morgan Stanley to $140 billion in three years.

Previously, Davidow was director of business development at Graystone Wealth Management Services, where he worked with ultra-high net-worth families, family offices, endowments and foundations. At one point, he was a vice president with Kidder Peabody, responsible for generating new assets for the firm.

"Tony brings a long track record of significantly expanding financial product sales and distribution for a number of major investment firms," noted Adam Patti, chief executive officer of IndexIQ. "His efforts have helped these organizations generate billions of dollars in new client assets. We believe his experience and abilities are a perfect match for IndexIQ as we continue to roll out new alternative investment products."

Davidow said he believes low-cost, highly transparent hedge fund replication products will gain significant traction among advisers and investors alike. "I have watched this product category emerge with interest and long noted IndexIQ's position as an innovator in the field," he noted. "It is great to have the opportunity to join one of the pioneers in index-based alternative investment products at a time when there is an opportunity to build recognition in the marketplace."

Boyes Becomes Europe VP With ReFlow Management

ReFlow Management has hired Jason Boyes as vice president of European sales, based out of a new office in Luxembourg. In this new position, Boyes will introduce the firm's cash management suite of tools, beginning with its redemption service for UCITS that provides funds with cash offsets on demand, eliminating the need to liquidate portfolio securities and to incur trading costs.

With more than 15 years of experience, Boyes has held senior-level positions with Clearstream Bank, PNC Global Investor Services and Bank of New York. He has worked in diverse areas of the industry, including fund financing, administration, sales and distribution, product development and sales. He began his career at Fleming Fund Managers in Luxembourg.

"In my previous positions, I had the opportunity to see firsthand the problems that asset flows can pose for fund managers," Boyes said. "I am pleased that I can now help offer them a solution which, in light of the current market turmoil, is more needed than ever."
