Memani Leads Fixed Income at Oppenheimer

OppenheimerFunds has named Krishna Memani senior vice president, head of the high grade fixed income team, overseeing the Oppenheimer Core Bond Fund, U.S. Government Trust Fund and Oppenheimer Limited-Term Government Fund, as well as all related accounts.

"Krishna brings a wealth of leadership and portfolio management experience to the company," said Art Steinmetz, senior vice president and director of fixed income at OppenheimerFunds. "We're very pleased to have him in this key role in our investment area. Shareholders will benefit from his deep knowledge of the fixed income markets and proven investment approach."

Memani, who has 25 years of experience, comes to the firm from Deutsche Bank, where he was managing director and head of the U.S. and European credit analyst team. Before that, he held a number of senior positions with Credit Suisse, Putnam Investments and Morgan Stanley.

"I'm pleased to join an organization with a 50-year history of serving the needs of investors and advisers," Memani said. "I look forward to the opportunity to finalize the team structure and set the direction for the future."

Piedmont Names COO, CFO and Quant Analyst

Piedmont Investment Advisors has named Sumali Sanyal chief operating officer and Jo Ann Williams chief financial officer and has hired James Ying as an analyst on the quantitative research team.

Sanyal, a co-founder of the firm, has more than 12 years of experience in the asset management industry. She was director of quantitative research at Loomis Sayles before joining Piedmont and began her investment career in 1995 at Olde Discount Corp. as a credit analyst.

"Sumali has been instrumental to the success of the firm since the very beginning, both as an investment professional and as a member of the management team," said Isaac Green, founder, president and chief executive officer of Piedmont. "This new title represents a formal recognition of the contributions she has made for many years."

Williams has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, having held senior financial positions at Wellington Management and Fidelity Investments. Most recently, she was vice president of finance and director of financial architecture at Wellington.

Prior to joining the firm, Ying was an analyst at Numeric Investors, where he conducted quantitative research and modeling on emerging markets. Before that, he was a quantitative analyst with Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Fiduciary Consultants Join Wilmington Wealth Unit

Wilmington Trust has hired L. Henry Gissel, Jr., Thomas P. Sweeney and Leonard S. Togman, all recently retired leading attorneys, as fiduciary consultants in its wealth advisory services unit, where they will work to develop wealth and estate plans for high-net-worth and family office clients. Gissel recently retired as partner with Fulbright & Jaworski. Sweeney also recently retired as a director and past president of Richards, Layton & Finer. Togman was previously a senior partner with Potter Anderson & Corroon. "Henry, Tom and Len bring significant experience and expert knowledge of fiduciary matters," said S. Allen Snook, SVP and head of Wilmington Family Office.
