Flinn Becomes Director of Client Service at MFC

MFC Global Investment Management has appointed Mark R. Flinn director of U.S. client service, in charge of overseeing institutional client relationships. He reports to Jacqui Allard, vice president and chief administrative officer, and will work very closely with Frank Saeli, head of sales and relationship management.

Flinn comes to the firm from State Street Global Advisors, where he was a principal and relationship manager. Before that, he was a client service associate with Standish Mellon Asset Management.

"We are very pleased to welcome Mark to our global team," Allard said. "Mark comes to us with excellent credentials and a depth of experience in providing superior service to institutional clients."

ReFlow Names Shea to New CRM Post, as Firm Ramps Up Client Relations

ReFlow has named John Shea to the newly created position of head of client relationship management. ReFlow President Paul Schaeffer said the new position was created in response to growth of the firm's mutual fund client base and the introduction of new capabilities.

"Because ReFlow's solutions are designed to enhance performance every day, we decided it was time to institutionalize our focus on delivering a seamless, top-quality client experience," Scheffer said.

In his new position, Shea is responsible for coordinating and improving all elements of the client experience, including sales, operations, client support and communications.

With more than 15 years of financial services industry experience, Shea came to the firm in 2007 as a business development specialist. Previously, he was a senior vice president at Dwight Asset Management, where he marketed the firm's fixed income capabilities to corporate ERISA plans.

Before that, he held business development and sales positions with Deutsche Asset Management, Lehman Brothers and John Nuveen.

Demand for ReFlow's redemption service surged in 2008 as shareholders withdrew more than $180 billion from long-term U.S. mutual funds.

"The current environment gives us an exciting opportunity to bring ReFlow's innovative and cost-effective liquidity solution to mutual funds at a time when they need it more than ever," the new CRM director noted. "I'm convinced that before long, the industry will identify as a best practice the common-sense redemption approach ReFlow has pioneered. This is just the beginning."
