Armada Appoints Mahoney As Head of Distribution

National City's institutional asset management wing has tapped Tim Mahoney, who has almost 20 years in the financial services industry, as head of distribution for the Armada Funds. National City is the advisor to the Armada Funds.

Mahoney comes to Armada from PFPC, where he was a senior vice president, senior managing director and a member of the board of directors. He has also worked at KeyCorp. and several brokerage houses. In his new position, Mahoney's chief responsibility will again be distribution to third parties.

"Tim has a proven track record of building, leading and expanding retail investment programs, and we are excited to welcome him to National City," said Ted Parker, head of institutional assets at National City. "His expertise in developing partnerships will enable us to grow our investment distribution and deliver comprehensive financial solutions to our clients."

Pru Taps Green as Head Of SMA Biz Development

Peter Green, former principal of State Street Global Advisors, has moved to Prudential Financial to head up business development initiatives. He will be responsible for dealing with the wealth management units of private and mid-size banks, as well as trust companies. Green will report to Kevin Osborn, the director of Prudential's managed account consulting group.

"These institutions couldn't ask for a more seasoned managed account partner than Peter and the managed accounts consulting group," Osborn said, speaking of the banks and trust companies that Green will work with.

Before his time at State Street, Green worked in Asian equities for Nikko, and held similar positions with HSBC James Capel and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. In total, he worked six years in Asia.

Integrated Names LoVetri Chief Marketing Officer

Ron LoVetri, a vice president at Charles Schwab, has decided to leave the firm to become the chief marketing officer of Integrated Decision Systems. He will coordinate product strategy and management, as well as research and business development.

"Ron's expertise in both the software and investment services industries makes him the perfect choice for this role in the IDS executive team," said IDS CEO Dan Totter.

Gaskin Joins Merrill Lynch As Value Team Leader

Industry veteran Frederick L. Gaskin has been hired by Merrill Lynch Investment Managers as a team leader and portfolio manager for its Relative Value/U.S. Active Large Cap Value strategy, the company announced.

He will join the team of portfolio managers including Joel Heymsfeld and John DeClue to work with a 25-year-old Merrill strategy. MLIM President and CIO Robert C. Doll said Gaskin's large-cap value experience "makes him a great addition to an already seasoned team."

Gaskin comes to MLIM from Deutsche Asset Management, formerly Scudder Investments, where he managed $6.5 billion worth of value equity investments in both mutual funds and institutional accounts. Before joining Scudder, Gaskin was the manager of the discretionary and non-discretionary accounts for U.S. Trust Company of New Jersey. He has also worked for Dreman Value Management and Eaton Vance.
