Touchstone Hires Durand As Manager of Sales Desk

Touchstone Investments has hired Jennifer Durand as manager of the internal sales desk. Durand, who has 12 years of experience in the financial services industry, joins the company from Jefferson National, where she directed the company's internal wholesaling team, overseeing sales effectiveness and compliance.

She has also worked at Allmerica Financial as assistant vice president of relationship management and high-net-worth customers.

Three Benefits Veterans Join CitiStreet's Sales Team

CitiStreet recently hired three veteran benefits salespeople from leading companies.

Michael Rubacky joins the employee benefit plan provider from Fidelity Investments, where he worked for a decade, most recently as vice president of sales. He also served as a project manager for the implementation of defined contribution plans. Throughout his career, Rubacky has also worked at State Street Corp. and at Citigroup, the parent corporations of CitiStreet.

Tim Murphy brings to CitiStreet nearly 25 years of experience that includes, most recently, the running of his own consulting company, TPC Advisors, which worked with plan sponsors on provider searches. Before that, he worked for Hewitt Associates as director of benefits outsourcing.

Thomas Degnan comes to CitiStreet after serving as managing director for MetLife Retirement Plans for New England and New York. Prior to that, Degnan was a 401(k) sales vice president for Bank of Boston. He has also worked for Federated Investors and Eaton Vance.

All three are now part of the institutional sales team, which offers service and administrative solutions for defined contribution, defined benefit and health and welfare plans in the corporate market. The team is run by Wayne Finnegan, executive vice president of corporate sales.

UPenn President Gutmann Elected to Vanguard Board

The board of directors of Vanguard has elected Amy Gutmann as a trustee to the company's board and the boards overseeing each of Vanguard's mutual funds.

Gutmann is president of the University of Pennsylvania, a post she has held since 2004. She also is a political science professor in the university's school of arts and sciences and has secondary faculty appointments in the philosophy department, the Annenberg School of Communication and the graduate school of education.

Two Sales, Marketing Pros Join BONY Brokerage Unit

BNY Brokerage, a subsidiary of The Bank of New York, has hired two sales and marketing executives. Kevin Byrne and Steven Irgang join BNY as part of the company's continued investment in its transition management and electronic direct access trading capabilities.

Byrne, who is now senior vice president and head of U.S. sales and marketing, was previously head of transition management for North America at JPMorgan. Before that, he was an account executive at Instinet.

Irgang joins BNY Brokerage as vice president, with a focus on expanding sales of the company's electronic direct market access platform. He also hails from JPMorgan, where he was a member of the institutional sales group, specializing in electronic execution for U.S. equities. Before joining JPMorgan, Irgang held sales and trading positions at Citibank and Lehman Brothers.
