Two Top Execs Announce Departures From Hewitt

Hewitt Associates' chief executive officer will retire in December, and the president of its core business has resigned. Dale L. Gifford, 56, who has been CEO of the company since 1992, is to retire as chairman and chief executive officer at yearend. Bryan J. Doyle, 45, president of Hewitt's human resources outsourcing business, resigned his posts with the company and its board of directors to pursue other opportunities, the company said.

Hewitt also announced that Julie S. Gordon, its chief business excellence officer and a member of its board of directors since 2000, has become acting president of the human resources outsourcing business.

Dreman Selects Onefater To Serve as CFO/COO

Dreman Value Management has selected Boris Onefater as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. He joins the company from Deloitte, where he led the hedge funds practice and, as a partner in the capital markets group, oversaw investment management consulting services.

WisdomTree Investments Assembles Sales Team

WisdomTree Investments has formed an nine-member national sales team, putting Todd Westby in charge of the group as director of national accounts.

Westby joins the company from Barclays Global Investments. Before joining Barclays, he was a vice president and regional sales manager at Nuveen and vice president for mutual funds marketing at Wheat First Butcher & Singer Capital Markets.

Of the eight other sales executives who have joined the company, the following three will serve RIAs: Will Abbott, regional director for the Midwest, joining from Charles Schwab; Morgan Lee, regional director for the West, also joining from Barclays; and Christopher Murray, regional director for the East, also joining from Schwab. Five will work with wirehouses: Dan Doischen, regional director for the Mid-Atlantic and the South, joining from ProFunds; Rocco Fiordelisi, regional director for the Midwest, joining from Wachovia; Chad Brown, regional associate, joining from Lockwood Advisors; Brandon Moore, regional associate, joining from UBS Financial Services; and Reed Williams, regional director for the Northeast, joining from State Street Corp.

IXIS Asset Management Hires Nelson, Hartwell

IXIS Asset Management Advisors Group has hired Thomas Nelson as senior vice president and Dana Hartwell as vice president in the firm's defined contribution group. Both are new appointments and are the result of the company's expanded business in the defined contribution market.

Nelson was most recently with Legg Mason in a national accounts role. He has also worked for Scudder Investments, Citigroup Asset Management, Citigroup International Private Bank and American Express Private Bank.

Hartwell joins IXIS from Fidelity Investments, where he was responsible for sales and relationship management in the registered investment adviser group. He also worked for Charles Schwab Corporate Services.
