Fidelity Investments Adds 10 Staffers to RIA Group

Fidelity Investments has expanded the sales and relationship management team at its registered investment advisor group with the hiring of 10 additional staffers, bringing the total number on the team to nearly 125.

Jylanne Dunne joins the division, which provides wealth management, custody and brokerage services to intermediaries, as senior vice president of sales, and nine others as regional vice presidents.

Both Angelo Aloisio and Relura Horton cover Northern California and the Pacific Northwest, Hazel Durand covers the East, David Herlihy serves bank trust clients, Scott Lawton is responsible for South Central states, Ruth Mulligan is in charge of New York and New Jersey, both James Olmore and Allen Rea service Southern California and the Southwest, and Patrick Richardson works with clients in the Mid-Atlantic region.

IXIS Promotes Coldren to Director of Key Accounts

IXIS Asset Management Global Associates has named Matt Coldren senior vice president, global director of key accounts, covering the U.S., European and Asian markets. Previously, Coldren was director of the U.S. key account division. Prior to joining IXIS in 2004, he was a vice president and national account manager at MFS Investment Management and a vice president and relationship manager at Delaware Investments.

"In light of today's regulatory and business environments, global financial institutions are seeking out those providers that can deliver investment solutions with consistency across borders," noted IXIS Chief Executive Officer John T. Hailer.

Coldren's promotion complements the firm's recent announcements of global leadership appointments in which Peter Martin was named executive vice president, head of distribution, for the Americas and Herve Guinamant was named executive vice president, head of distribution, for Europe and Asia Pacific.

HSBC Names Paravani Chief Investment Officer

HSBC Investments has appointed Simona Paravani chief investment officer. She was previously head of global asset allocation and joined the company in 2004 as an asset allocation economist within the global research group.

Before that, she was a senior portfolio manager with Julius Baer Asset Management in Zurich and a quant analyst at Orbis Investment Advisory in London.

She replaces Guillermo Konecny, who is now chief executive officer of HSBC Investments in Bermuda.

Matteo, Letheby Become ICON Regional Sales VPs

ICON Advisors has selected David Matteo and John Letheby as regional vice presidents in its sales division. Matteo will sell ICON's mutual funds and separately managed accounts in New England. He comes to the firm from Putnam Investments, where he was a wholesaler and regional sales associate working in the Northeast. Before that, he was a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual.

Letheby is an associate regional vice president for the Heartland territory (Minnesota and Wisconsin).

He joined ICON last year as a regional sales associate, coming to the company from Merrill Corp., where he was a project manager. Before that, he worked with high-net-worth investors as an American Century representative.
