Ellyn A. McColgan, president of distribution and operations at Fidelity Investments, resigned last week "to pursue opportunities outside of the company," Fidelity said in a statement.

Dong Becomes Vice Chair At Munder Capital Mgmt.

Munder Capital Management has promoted Tony Y. Dong from managing director, mid-cap equity to vice chairman. He will continue, however, to oversee mid-cap core growth and mid-cap and small-cap blend funds, and remain the lead manager on the Munder Mid-Cap Core Growth Fund and the Munder Small-Mid Cap Fund.

"Although Tony is best known as the senior investment strategist responsible for the success of our mid-capitalization core growth discipline, his significant contributions to Munder Capital's growth and evolution go far beyond his money management responsibilities," said Munder Chief Executive Officer John Adams. "Tony's appointment as vice chairman formally acknowledges the instrumental role he has played for several years."

Dong joined the firm in 1988 as a portfolio manager for the firm's growth at a reasonable price investment discipline. He was promoted to senior portfolio manager in 1994 and to his previous position in 2006. He began his career as an equity securities analyst.

TIAA-CREF Promotes Beams to Executive VP, Nolan to Vice Chairman

TIAA-CREF has promoted Maliz Beams from senior managing director, wealth management and advice, to executive vice president, individual client services. She succeeds Frances Nolan, a 27-year veteran of the firm, who has also been promoted, to vice chairman.

In Beams' new position, she will not only oversee wealth management but also advice and planning, insurance, trust, brokerage and telephone counseling centers. Before joining the firm in 2004, Beams was a partner at Spyglass Investment Management and a partner and managing director of Zurich Scudder Investments. Before that, she was a managing director and head of the tax-exempt institutional asset management business and chief executive of discount brokerage at Fleet Investment Advisers, director of the consumer card group at American Express and head of Citibank's retail acquisition and relationship management business for the New York banking division.

As vice chairman, Nolan will cultivate institutional client relationships. However, she has said she plans to retire next year. Since joining TIAA-CREF in 1980, Nolan has held various senior management positions, including vice president for participant services.

"Maliz Beams brings exceptional leadership and extensive experience to her new role as head of individual client services, and Fran Nolan has made an enormous contribution to TIAA-CREF over her career," said CEO Herb Allison. "Fran has dedicated herself to the financial needs of our institutional and individual clients."
