Petrone Expands Kasina's Research Effort

Kasina has hired Larry Petrone as head of research to meet the company's growing demand for its research and shifting industry needs.

According to the company, Petrone's expertise will help grow Kasina's research offerings and will allow its clients to better position their product development and distribution.

"We wanted to add an executive that has a deep understanding of the changing product and distribution landscapes," said Steven Miyao, Kasina's CEO.

"Larry will be responsible for growing our research offering and ensuring that our clients get the most timely and relevant research."

Petrone joins Kasina with over 15 years of experience working in the financial services industry and is experienced in supervising research staff, developing investment product and distribution research, delivering industry presentations and identifying attractive investment opportunities.

"Our clients will benefit from Larry's broad experience in directing product, distribution focused research and consulting projects for asset managers and insurers," adds Miyao. "Our industry's product needs are changing, there is increased interest in mitigating risk through the use of ETFs and alternatives, and Larry has an expert understanding of this shifting landscape."

Petrone comes to Kasina from FRC Research Corporation, where he was the director of research/senior consultant. He managed a team of senior research analysts, evaluated business strategy, product offerings and distribution capabilities of investment management.

Larry will also bring added depth to our consulting practice, which has continued to grow as firms look to optimize the profitability of their distribution efforts," states Miyao. Great-West Names Killgore Regional Sales Director

Great-West Retirement Services has appointed Jay Killgore as regional sales director for Nebraska, announced Bill Harmon, senior vice president of Great-West Retirement Services' corporate 401(k) market. Killgore will now oversee the development of 401(k) plan business through brokers, financial advisers, consultants, wire houses and third-party administrators. He is based in Omaha and reports to Joe Smolen, regional vice president.

"As we expand our sales team across the country, we are pleased to add someone with Jay's experience," Harmon said. "Having worked in this market for several years, Jay has an understanding of the market's needs and an exceptional perspective to best position Great-West's offerings with intermediaries and plan sponsors."

Before joining Great-West, Killgore was with Mutual of Omaha for 12 years, most recently as a regional wholesaler in Nebraska. Killgore has a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska. He also has FINRA Series 6 and 63 securities registrations and a Qualified 401(k) Administrator designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

Neuberger Appoints Saltzman Wealth Advisor

Neuberger Berman Group LLC has appointed Brian Saltzman as a wealth advisor and vice president in the firm's New York office.

Saltzman will focus on addressing a range of investment, tax, and estate planning needs for high-net-worth individuals. He reports to Kenneth G. Rende, head of Neuberger Berman Wealth Management. The high-net-worth team provides investment management, financial planning, and multi-generational trust and philanthropic planning services.

Before joining Neuberger, Saltzman spent three years as a financial advisor for AllianceBernstein, advising both individuals and institutions. Previously, he served seven years as a sales performance and relationship management consultant at Huthwaite, coaching and developing sales leaders for Fortune 500 companies. Earlier he held a variety of sales strategy and sales leadership positions at American Express.

Jones Joins CLS in Regional VP of Sales Role

CLS Investments, LLC announced the recent hire of Jay Jones, ChFC in the position of regional vice president of sales. He will be serving the Western States region.

In early 2011, Jones joined CLS to provide additional coverage to the western states region. His territory encompasses Southern California, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, and Washington.

Jones comes to CLS with 20 years tenure as a financial advisor in Northern California. He has an additional seven years of experience as an investment wholesaler in the independent and RIA channels, working with the mutual and alternative fund markets.

Jones holds a Business Management degree from American River College in Sacramento, CA, as well as a Chartered Financial Consultant designation from The American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. He maintains the FINRA 6, 7 and NASAA series 63 securities registrations, in addition to California state licenses.
