F-Squared Forms Board to Focus on Retirement

F-Squared Investments has formed the AllWeather Advisory Board, a diverse group of industry professionals who will work to improve state-of-the-art retirement income solutions for investors and funding requirements for pensions, endowments and foundations.

F-Squared noted that for decades, the investment industry has relied on diversification and other modern portfolio theory concepts to manage risk and improve repeatability of annual withdrawal levels. But the two severe bear markets of the past decade have shown that diversification, while not broken, is insufficient to meet the full needs of investors.

"It is not often that a collection of professionals with such powerful resumes and diverse backgrounds comes together," commented George McClelland, co-founder and vice chairman of F-Squared Investments. "This board will hopefully assist in continuing to push thought leadership forward in this very critical investment category by exchanging ideas, concepts and research to advance the art for repeatable, reliable, systematic withdrawal rates."

Members of the board include: Ron Santangelo, managing director of Santangelo Investment Management and Research; Laura Dagan, former CEO and chairman of Dwight Asset Management; Dr. Arthur Laffer, founder and chairman of Laffer Associates; Ron Insana, president and CEO of Insana Capital Holdings and contributor to CNBC; Brad Campbell, counsel at Schiff-Hardin and former Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employee Benefits; Ed D'Alelio, chairman of the investment committee for the University of Massachusetts and former high yield CIO at Putnam Investments; Steve Mitchell, COO and board member of the Retirement Income Industry Association; Jon Holsteen, founder, former CEO and chairman of Chicago Asset Management; Bruce Dafor, CEO of Financial Research Corp.; Arjen Kuyper, president and COO of Navellier & Associates; Matthew Bell, partner with Cross Financial Services Group; Rick Shrier, founder and CEO of Shrier Associates; Kelly Caldwell, CEO of Caldwell Trust; Stephen Gibson, co-founder and managing partner at Boston Strategic and former CEO of Liberty Financial Mutual Funds; Howard Present, co-founder and CEO of F-Squared; and McCelland.
