Hewitt Associates Names Fradin Chief Executive

Hewitt Associates has named Russell P. Fradin chairman and chief executive officer, effective Sept. 5. He will succeed Dale L. Gifford, who is retiring after spending more than 30 years with the company, becoming CEO in 1992.

Fradin currently is the president and CEO of BISYS. Previously, he held a number of positions over the course of seven years with Automatic Data Processing, including as president of the global employer services group, where he doubled revenues to $4.5 billion, boosted profit margins to $1.3 billion and led the way for the company to provide total human resources outsourcing for small businesses. Before that, he spent 18 years at McKinsey.

"We are extremely pleased Russ has accepted the opportunity to join Hewitt," said Cheryl A. Francis, Hewitt's lead director. "He is a proven leader with a unique blend of experience and skills that are a perfect complement to Hewitt's core businesses."

Chiappara Joins Deutsche In Private Wealth Division

Mark Chiappara has joined Deutsche Bank's private wealth management division as managing director and senior private banker.

He joins the firm from Bank of America, where he was a senior vice president in the private banking unit. Before that, he was an investment banker with Lehman Brothers and a derivatives specialist with Goldman Sachs.

"Mark's tremendous skill set and extensive banking experience, particularly relating to capital markets and structured lending, have contributed to his position as one of the leading private bankers in the country," said Thomas Bowers, head of Deutsche's private wealth management division.

Levitt to Serve as Advisor To ETF Firm WisdomTree

Arthur Levitt, former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, has joined WisdomTree Investments as a senior advisor.

"I am pleased to serve as an advisor to a firm that is committed to serving investors with a well-reasoned investment strategy that is packaged in an investor-friendly structure," Levitt said. "ETFs are transparent, tax efficient and often cost less to own than traditional mutual funds."

Proskauer Hires Sjoblom As Partner in D.C. Office

Proskauer Rose has hired Thomas Sjoblom as a partner in its Washington office. Sjoblom has worked with financial institutions and public companies through all stages of criminal investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Justice, state regulatory agencies and self-regulatory organizations, such as the New York Stock Exchange and the NASD.

Sjoblom joins the company from Chadbourne & Parke, where he was a partner. Before that, he worked for 20 years at the SEC, at one point supporting the Justice Department as a special assistant U.S. attorney.

In addition, Proskauer Rose has hired three others from Chadbourne & Parke as associates. They are Ben Ogletree, Jonathan Hanks and Jackie Perrill.
