First Republic Grabs $250M Team From Barclays

A two-advisors team managing $250 million in assets left Barclays for First Republic Bank.

Hugh Beecher and Rick Gordon joined the regional bank as managing directors and portfolio managers in San Francisco.

Beecher started his career in 1995 with Goldman Sachs, according to FINRA records. He later joined Credit Suisse in 2010, and left that firm for Barclays in 2012. Earlier in his career, he also founded Beecher Investment Management.

Gordon had worked for Barclays since 2008. Prior to that, he worked at Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers, according to First Republic.

In the press release announcing their moves, Katherine August-deWilde, president of First Republic, said, “Hugh and Rick have proven track records of success in helping individuals and families grow and preserve wealth across generations.”

Earlier this month, Barclays hired a new regional manager. Gary Domoracki, previously CEO of Source Capital Group, now oversees the firm's Boston office.
