Former SEC Chair Will Join Neuberger Berman Board

Former Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Arthur Levitt, Jr. will join the board of directors of Neuberger Berman, of New York, the company has announced.

Levitt, who was appointed SEC chairman by former President Bill Clinton in 1993, was the longest serving SEC chairman. He left the commission on Feb. 9.

Levitt previously worked for 16 years on Wall Street and was chairman of the American Stock Exchange from 1978 to 1989. He was also chairman of the New York City Economic Development Corporation and owned a Washington, D.C. newspaper called Roll Call that covered Capital Hill.

Neuberger Berman offers private asset management, mutual funds, institutional management, tax planning and other services.
