Franklin Pushes Funds via Retirement Center

Franklin Templeton Investments unveiled its new online, interactive retirement center for advisors and plans sponsors on Thursday.

The center will offer advisors and plan sponsors access to a buffet of online retirement content and resources both for their own reference and to share with clients.

“Our objective in creating this new online retirement center has been to give advisors a go-to resource that they can easily access for all of their retirement business needs," Michael Doshier, vice president of retirement marketing at Franklin Templeton, said in a statement.

"We incorporated much of their input in the design phase, and we are encouraging their continued comments and feedback.”

Center highlights include the Retirement Post, a compilation of retirement-related articles from Franklin Templeton and other industry experts; the Resource Center, offering advisors and sponsors sales tools, presentations and client approved literature; and a "Fund Focus" section with information on Franklin Templeton’s funds and how they might fit into retirement planning.

In the Retirement Post portion of the site, advisors are encouraged to interact with the center and one another using social capabilities such as rating and comment options.

“We are now taking that a step further by making it easier for advisors to see how our funds might be used in retirement, as well as improving access to tools for talking to clients about retirement,” stated Bob Geppner, senior vice president and head of national sales for Franklin Templeton.
