Jamieson has been chief operating officer of the company's Gamco Investors Inc. unit since 1986, the company announced this week. Gamco Investors manages $13 billion of private advisory accounts for institutional investors and high-net-worth customers.
Gabelli Asset Management in Rye, N.Y., oversees about $27 billion of assets. In his new post, Jamieson is to oversee all business units, including Gamco, the mutual funds unit, and Gabelli Securities Inc., which includes the hedge fund and institutional broker/dealer businesses.
