Genworth Fills Two Positions

Genworth Financial has announced two appointments in its retirement income and investments business.

Rob Methven has been named the president of the retirement services group. He will oversee distribution, customer development, wholesaling and wholesaling support. He succeeds Frank Gencarelli, who left to become the senior vice president for business development in Genworth's protection business, said Tim Benedict, a spokesman.

Matthew Sharpe has been named the chief marketing officer. He will oversee market development and growth strategies. It is a newly created position and a natural expansion for the business, Benedict said.

Both Sharpe and Methven are based in Richmond, Va. They will report to Pam Schutz, the president and chief executive officer for the retirement income and investments division, which offers fixed, variable, and income annuities, as well as variable life insurance and asset management.
