Greene Named Great-West Chief Marketing Officer

Great-West Life & Annuity has hired Joe Greene as chief marketing officer, a new position at the firm. Greene reports to President and Chief Executive Officer Mitchell Graye.

In this role, Greene is responsible for executing Great-West's branding strategy, supporting the company's blueprint for growth through strategic marketing campaigns and leading its expanding marketing team.

Greene comes to Great-West from Bernstein-Rein Advertising, where he was senior vice president and director of marketing and strategic planning. Previously, he held senior marketing and product management positions at American Century Investments, American Express, Chase Manhattan Bank, Dreyfus and OppenheimerFunds. He also chaired the marketing committee of the Investment Company Institute and was chairman of the Mutual Fund Education Alliance.

"Joe's broad experience in both the financial services and advertising disciplines will be a tremendous asset in carrying out our marketing objectives," Graye said. "Joe will play a key role in helping us re-brand Great-West as a leading provider of financial services, ensuring that our positioning and messaging resonate with our current and future customers."

Porter for Wealth Unit

Brown Brothers Harriman has appointed Susan Porter senior adviser to support the firm's wealth management and trust practices, reporting directly to John A. Gehret, partner responsible for BBH Trust Companies. In this position, Porter is responsible for providing counsel and thought leadership on estate planning and trust administration for clients, particularly on complex tax, fiduciary and charitable planning issues. Porter will also speak at national estate-planning conferences and be responsible for writing ongoing thought leadership pieces.

A 40-year veteran of the wealth management industry, Porter will continue as a visiting adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law graduate program in estate planning. She is also a member of the advisory committee of the Philip E. Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning and a lecturer on discretionary trusts for the American Bankers Association's National Graduate Trust School. Porter is also an active member of the American Bar Association's real property, probate and trust law section.

Porter comes to Brown Brothers from U.S. Trust, where she was a senior bank executive running several departments, including estate and trust settlement, financial planning, closely held business and tax.

Broadridge Hires Bennett,

Binney for Senior Roles

Broadridge has hired two senior executives to expand and grow its business in line with industry demand. Simon Bennett is now managing director, sales, for Broadridge City Networks, and Robert Binney is now senior business development director to expand Broadridge's European team and take advantage of new global market opportunities.

Bennett will focus on growing the business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, bringing the BCN product suite, which includes reconciliation and operational risk management solutions to buy- and sell-side clients.

Binney will work in a business advisory capacity to increase the Broadridge footprint internationally.

With more than 20 years of financial services experience, Bennett has held a number of senior positions with international software vendors in Europe, the U.S. and Asia, including as commercial director at Linedata Services, deputy sales director at GL Trade and general manager at Alltel.

"Broadridge is a well-regarded company with an excellent existing client base, and I am looking forward to growing the BCN team and introducing the growing range of BCN solutions," Bennett said.

Binney also has deep industry experience, particularly a strong track record in leadership and business development at global financial services firms. He was director of strategic accounts at FIS, vice chairman at Fortent and managing director at Citigroup, and held a number of senior positions at Chase Manhattan Bank.

UBS Hires Two-Member

Morgan Stanley Team

UBS Wealth Management Americas continues to build on its recent hiring spree with the addition of a two-member Morgan Stanley Smith Barney financial adviser team in Tucson, Ariz. The team, which operates under the name Meyer Stout Group, includes Matthew Meyer and Christian Stout. They previously had $1.3 million in annual fees and commissions and $133 million in assets under management. They report to UBS Branch Manager Charlie Cajero.

Meyer had been employed with Morgan Stanley since 1996, while Stout has been with the firm since 2002. The new hires come as UBS hired 38 new financial advisers in June. MME
