Hamm Departs Cambridge for RIA The Legend Group

Michael Hamm has left a position as vice president at Cambridge Investment Research in Fairfield, Iowa, to become a senior vice president at The Legend Group in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

“Michael brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Legend,” Michael Spinello, CEO of Legend, said in a statement. “His deep understanding of the industry, combined with his team building and operational capabilities, will support Legend’s mission and vision as we continue to grow.”

Hamm comes to Legend with 18 years of experience in strategic business operations and technology.

As vice president at Cambridge, he oversaw the partner support center and technology consulting since 2009. Before joining Cambridge, Hamm worked for LPL Financial in San Diego, Calif., as director and vice president of broker/dealer operations, information technology and the company’s service center. Prior to his work with LPL, he was employed with PNC Bank of Pittsburgh, Penn., as an officer and project manager.

Hamm holds an MBA from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA and a bachelor's of science from Penn State University in University Park, PA. He is a certified Kolbe consultant and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 certifications.

An RIA, Legend Group is a subsidiary of publicly traded Waddell & Reed Financial, one of the first-ever issuers of mutual funds. With a history rooted in the development of products and services for retirement plans, Legend played an influential role in the evolution of the §403(b) retirement plan market.
