The Mutual Fund Education Alliance yesterday unveiled the winners of the 2012 STAR Awards for excellence in mutual fund marketing and communications at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park.

And the winners are…

U.S. Global Advisors and Franklin Templeton Investments both garnered three Overall Achievement Awards for their work in the digital technology, mobile Websites, mobile Apps and overall Digital/Technology. John Hancock Funds also took home the gold in the large companies category (over $35 up to $100 billion in assets) for their efforts in retail and advisor communications.

Also, Vanguard took home the bacon for their efforts in plan participant communications within the large plus companies category (over $100 billion in assets).
