Hancock Names New President

Barry Evans has been named president of John Hancock Asset Management North America. Repeated requests for comment on whether this is a new position or was previously held by someone else were not returned as of press time.

Following Evans appointment there were several changes to the portfolios he managed. He will drop off the management team of the John Hancock Investors Trust. Jeffrey Given and John Iles, the fund’s current managers will continue to manage the fund. Evans will also drop off the management team of the John Hancock Income Securities Trust, which will continue to be managed by Jeffrey Given and Howard Greene.

Evans will retain his title of global chief investment officer of asset allocation.
